"Who is God?" is a five week-long program designed for children ages 5-12 that meets every Wednesday from July 6th through August 3rd from 6p to 8p. It is intended to provide children with the opportunity to actively engage with the question "Who is God?" through fun and exciting hands-on games, crafts, and experiences. Each week will focus on a different attribute of God and His character.
Week 1- GOD is REAL
Exploring the account of the burning bush with the help of our friends from the West Pittston Fire Department.
Week 2 - GOD is the CREATOR
Look around and take in all that God has made for us to enjoy! To better appreciate the diversity of God's creation, we will be having a demonstration given by The Pet Zone of various species of reptiles.
Week 3 - GOD is FAITHFUL
You can trust God... He always keeps His promises. God promises to give Abraham descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky. Years go by, and Abraham and his wife, Sarah, are very old, but finally God keeps his promise. Sarah gives birth to a baby, and Abraham names him Isaac.
Be prepared for an exciting night as we play games, make crafts, and perform a science experiment.
Week 4 - GOD is KIND
Kicked out of the home where she was a servant, Hagar and her teenage son, Ishmael, are on their own. Eventually they run out of food and water, and Ishmael is extremely weak and near death. God hears Hagar’s and Ishmael’s tears and sends an angel to provide water and comfort.
NOTE: One of the activities of the night might get participants a bit wet. Please dress accordingly.
Week 5 - GOD is HOLY
God wants to spend time with us... We will explore the Tabernacle that God had His people build so that He could be among them. God is perfect, but we are not. God gives very specific instructions for the Tabernacle, a transportable temple where his holy presence can live among his people. When the Tabernacle is built to specification, God comes and fills the building, hovering over it with a cloud by day and a cloud that glows with fire inside it at night.
Be prepared for a night of games, snacks, and the opportunity to spend time in God's presence!
Although we are happy to accept registrations throughout the course of the program, it is extremely helpful to have students preregister so that we can be better prepared to meet everyone's needs. Thank You!
The date is approaching fast and we’re making preparations. Don’t miss out!
